5Random Photo Memory: Mongolian Powder Room
Another gem from the wilds of Mongolia. This, was actually among the more posh facilities I enjoyed in nearly a month amid the Chinggis Khan playground. More often, there wasn’t even an outhouse – just a matter of (literally) “pissin’ in the wind”!
I could handle it! But I don’t really want to.
Yep Amy, one would have to be certifiable to actually PAY MONEY to spend weeks under such rustic conditions. 😉 Ah but I’ve not yet shared my many tales of how utterly AWESOME living like a true nomad (from another century!) was.
Still… no way to sugar-coat it – it truly WAS among the toughest 3 weeks I’ve ever spent.
Looks like a drop toilet I experienced on a bush camping trip in Botswana. But at least mine had an actual toilet-looking thing to sit on. This one is simply horrible.
Or should I say, it’s simply “the pits”. haha. I make myself laugh… Sigh.
Yes, a “drop” toilet indeed James – as in “drop your drawers”, and then “drop your load”! 😉
And as I said, this was one of the more ritzy varieties I enjoyed in my three weeks exploring the far reaches of Mongolia. More often, it was simply a matter of finding a reasonably distant spot, dropping your drawers, and simply “pissin’ in the wind”!
(hmmm… wonder why them call them “drawers” anyway?)
