2Random Photo Memory: Thai Hill Tribe Brothers
A single image to remind me of my long ago days visiting the Hill Tribes in northern Thailand.
OK, one word (or two): What does the taller fellow have on his face? Is it decoration or..?
It’s been awhile for me Paul, but I believe the powder/paste on the lads face is “thanaka” – a traditional Burmese skin concoction ground from the bark of a tree, and used as a sunscreen, beauty cream, et al. Many of the Thai Hill Tribe peoples emigrated to Thailand from Burma, thus you often see such smears on the faces of women and children.

That said, oy! Now you’ve gone and done it – so much for a “Wordless” Wednesday from the TravelnLass! 😉
