0Foto Flip Friday – December Theme: “FACES” (Week 3)
Welcome to a new edition of Foto Flip Friday – a selected showcase of photos dredged up from my bountiful photo archives and whittled into pretty little “flip/flop” postcards each Friday. And to add to the fun, each month I’ll challenge myself to unearth a series of images that meet a monthly theme.
Portraits are often the trickiest to capture, and I would never dream of sticking my camera lens in someone’s face without prior agreement. Ah but with a a bit of rapport, such portraits are among my most treasured, as they remind me of the many incredible characters that I’ve met along the trail.
Thus, this month’s FFF theme is most dear to me: FACES
And for our first entry this, the 3rd week of “Faces” we have (yet another) glimpse of my adventures in Mongolia: (do mouseover to see a short message on the back of each postcard).
(simply mouseover the image and watch the *magic!)
* Well o.k. for those viewing in IE, not so much a magical “flip” as a fading change. If you want to see the flip/flop, try viewing in Chrome or Firefox.
And here we have a portrait of arguably the quintessential “Face of Vietnam” – an image I snapped in a tiny village whilst on a wonderful photo tour that I took in Hoi Anh, Vietnam.
And given that Feliz Navidad is just around the corner – I couldn’t help but post a Christmas card, especially addressed to my Vietnamese “Sister” waaaaay over there in Dalat, Vietnam:
Just one more week of “Faces” before a whole new year dawns, and I still have TONS of such memorable portraits to share. Looks like we’ll need to do another month of “Faces” in 2015!
Meanwhile – if you’d like to submit a “Faces” photo of your own (in landscape format, min. 700 px. wide), just upload it to an online source (e.g. your blog, Facebook, Flickr, etc – make sure the privacy settings are set to “public”), and post a link to it in the comments below.
And finally… as the holidays are oh so swiftly bearing down upon us:
Feliz Navidad and Happy Holidays to One and ALL!
