3Foto Flip Friday – December Theme: “FACES” (Week 4)
Welcome to a new edition of Foto Flip Friday – a selected showcase of photos dredged up from my bountiful photo archives and whittled into pretty little “flip/flop” postcards each Friday. And to add to the fun, each month I’ll challenge myself to unearth a series of images that meet a monthly theme.
Portraits are often the trickiest to capture, and I would never dream of sticking my camera lens in someone’s face without prior agreement. Ah but with a a bit of rapport, such portraits are among my most treasured, as they remind me of the many incredible characters that I’ve met along the trail.
Thus, this month’s FFF theme is most dear to me: FACES
And for this, the final week of “Faces”, I’ve gathered a potpourri of “Smiling Lasses” from my travels in Asia, plus… added a “smile” quote to the back of each postcard:
(simply mouseover the image and watch the *magic!)
* Well o.k. for those viewing in IE, not so much a magical “flip” as a fading change. If you want to see the flip/flop, try viewing in Chrome or Firefox.
And here we have a portrait of a grinning lass I took amid the northern Hill Tribes on my first visit to Thailand.
And lastly, two joyful lasses amid the rice fields of Vietnam:
O.k., that’s a FFF “Faces” wrap!
Tune in next Friday to see what new Foto Flip theme I’ve chosen to kick off 2015.
And meanwhile, a great big ol’ Feliz Año Nuevo to ALL!
I love interacting with people as we travel and, like you, use my photos to remind me of the amazing people we’ve met along the way!
Great photos! I’m back in the US for Xmas holidays and can’t tell you how nice it is to actually be able to log in and see postings on a consistent basis! May your year be full of adventure, fulfillment and health!
In my younger days, I never used to be into taking portrait shots, but now I love them. Nice ones!
