6Foto Flip Friday – January Theme: “ANIMALS” (Week 3… and 4)
Trust that I have plenty of tales and pix to share from my recent odyssey amid those glorious Galapagos Islands. But editing near 2k images and pecking my many adventures (swimming with sharks at Kicker Rock off San Cristóbal Island, gaping at giant tortoises in the misty highlands of Santa Cruz Island, my 5 day cruise around Santiago Island, and seeing a sea horse whilst snorkeling amid Los Tuneles off Isabella Island, etc.) will no doubt take weeks, so do be patient Grasshoppers – all in good time.
But meanwhile, we’re still 2 weeks behind here on these FFFs, so today I’ll share a double dose of twin flippin’ ANIMALS – four different critters I’ve been lucky enough to cuddle in my travels.
(Do mouseover to see a short message on the back of each postcard.
Simply mouseover the image and watch the *magic!)
First, a jaguar playfully nibbling at my wrist!:
* Well o.k. for those viewing in IE, not so much a magical “flip” as a fading change. If you want to see the flip/flop, try viewing in Chrome or Firefox.
Well not so much “cuddle” as – vice-grip to keep from falling off the bronking bird!:
Yet another camel (this one 2-humped vs. my 1-humped dromedary in the the Sahara):
And finally, a dappled steed along a windswept Moroccan beach:
We’ve got one more Friday this month, so do check back next week to see a few more critters (including at least one more from my recent adventure in the Galapagos).
And meanwhile – if you’d like to submit a “Animals” photo of your own (in landscape format, min. 700 px. wide), just upload it to an online source (e.g. your blog, Facebook, Flickr, etc – make sure the privacy settings are set to “public”), and post a link to it in the comments below.
Who knows? I might just whittle it into a flip/flop digital postcard here!
Can’t wait for the Galapagos photos!
Stay tuned (both Anita and Ilene), but it will likely take me WEEKS to wade through and edit nearly two THOUSAND images!
Love the jaguar photo. Looking forward to hearing about your time in the Galapagos and your plans to teach there as well!
Yep Anita – that cuddly jaguar surely changed the course of my life – for the better!
What a great idea! The animals I’ve encountered whilst traveling are some of my near and dear memories. Great post 🙂
Yes Kelsey, I too treasure my memories of the animals I’ve encountered in my travels. And now I have a whole slew of new critters – from my recent visit to the Galapagos Islands – stay tuned!
